Kinetic wall it is the first project of the Transducer Architecture research, an ongoing research which explore new space forms of kinetic architecture and its sustainability.
KW is a study of a house space base on the time of use it. Normally on a working family 8 hrs are spent working outside of the house, 8 hrs in one, two or more rooms (depending on the number of family members) sleeping, and the rest could be inside or outside of it.( base on ATUS survey)
The project is a house that eventually could fold spaces that are not being used to reduce the volume space that has to be cool or
heat, and unfold them when is needed.
The research study a wall membrane that use an origami system to achieve these movements.
